Our newly updated & more accessible site
A refreshed homepage, improved search and accessibility enhancements
Following the launch of the re-developed and re-named open policy finder platform just over a year ago, we have continued to build on this and further improve both our user-interface and infrastructure and are pleased to release our latest major update to the site!
Throughout the year we have engaged and consulted with our users, advisory board and supporters and applied the feedback we received, as well as consulting accessibility experts, to ensure our site meets the needs of our whole user community.
Key features of our latest update include:
- Updated / refreshed user-interface (UI) on our homepage and across the site:
- A bolder, brighter design
- A new menu to help with navigation
- Featured tiles to highlight key areas, information and tools on the site
- The ability to search from anywhere on the site
- An improved search results page with smoother navigation between record types, highlighted search terms and more visible metadata
- Improved accessibility features across the site:
- New keyboard highlights with improved contrast ratios
- Colour/contrast amendments on UI elements
- Generally improved markup code to help with accessibility requirements
- The institution selector has been removed from the navigation to streamline the UI and remove unnecessary features
- The code has been improved to help overall speed of navigation around the site for users and ensure we can easily implement future enhancements
We hope you will find these changes provide an improved and more efficient experience when using open policy finder!
